Heading Back to Costa Rica

Not sure there is much biz there, but that's really the point. My wife and I are going to a pretty remote area of the country and we're looking forward to some good outdoor adventure there.

I'll share some appropriate pics and video upon my return and try to make it somewhat relevant to the online marketing world, but for now, I'm going to enjoy a well-deserved week off blog posts, among others. Did a little research on YouTube, and thought I'd share this one:

Very Psyched about being Highlighted in The Oregonian Business Section

Thank you thank you, Jonathan Brinckman. You did a great job talking about how "something very different is going on in Portland, where a cluster of software firms have set up shop in and around Old Town:

Two crucial factors are driving the trend: Software companies -- particularly those focusing on social networking, online advertising and finance -- are thriving. And a hip office in a central location can be a competitive edge in attracting top-notch staff."

The Oregonian article really needs the images to accompany it, so see those below.

eROI.com - Website Re-Design at last, at last

We launched our new site at www.eroi.com. I am filled with pride in my team and in the end result - a beautiful, easily navigated website of an email and interactive agency that has done great work. So, we decided to party like it was 1999 (in the Bay Area) in the dot com heyday. Well, maybe not THAT much partying, but we did break out the champagne and orange juice (mimosas) as 10am today. Enjoy the pictures below, but more importantly, please comment on this blog posting of what you think of our site. I'm especially interested in what you think of our Portfolio section and Resources Center. Thanks. You don't have to say nice things (even after knowing that it took over a year to concept the design and ultimately build the entire site). Here are the pics:

Movable Type 4.0 Transition is Complete

For the past month, this Blog - Email Days and our other eROI blogs, The Email Wars and Return on Subscriber all had a few errors on them due to the challenging server upgrade of Movable Type 3.1 to the insanely powerful and feature-rich Movable Type 4.0. We weren't able to display our Category pages, Permalinks, and Comment pages on all pre-transition postings which there numbered in the thousands of blog postings. All that is fixed as of this afternoon and we can let out our inner-geek spirit in celebration!

We will roll out new features in the upcoming weeks for this blog including digg and de.li.cious links, Captcha code for Comments to reduce blog comment spam, create some widgets, and play around with a variety of other MT 4.0 features that I'm just learning about.
